Panel 1: 09:40 to 10:55 EDT Understanding the information environment: The complexity and velocity of disinformation took on new dimensions with the advent of social media. The panel will explore the contemporary information environment; better understand the disinformation, propaganda and misinformation challenges; how to effectively counter disinformation.
Panel 2: 11:05 to 12:10 EDT An historical case: OP HUSKY: Disinformation campaigns were widely used in WWII. The panel will explore the disinformation campaigns and strategies at work leading up to, during and after the Allied invasion of Sicily in July 1943.

Panel 3: 09:40 to 10:55 EDT Disinformation – Contemporary case studies: The pandemic, democratic elections, ongoing wars and military deployments provide significant opportunities to explore disinformation in today’s world. The panel will explore and analyse current examples of disinformation campaigns that threaten peace around the world.
