Call for Papers
International Forum on Peace, Security and Prosperity (IFPSP) 2025 – Call for Papers
The Queen’s University Centre for International and Defence Policy and the International Forum on Peace, Security, and Prosperity welcome submissions of papers that will be presented during the 2025 International Forum on Peace, Security, and Prosperity (IFPSP). We particularly encourage undergraduate and graduate students to submit their papers. This year’s event, will take place both online and in person in Palermo, Italy, from March 17th to 20th, 2025.
Papers should be focused on the theme of the conference: “Human Security in a VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambiguous) World: Navigating Challenges, Building Resilience.” They must present original material or a review of a significant area, and not be published previously. They should be between 2500 and 5000 words (including references).
This year, we are offering two publication options:
Option A: Papers to be published as a Martello Papers. The submitted papers will undergo a double-blind peer-review process. For previous editions of this series, see: https://www.queensu.ca/cidp/publications/martello-papers.
Option B: The papers will appear in a dedicated section of the IFPSP website. They will be reviewed only by the editorial teams.

- Name;
- Affiliation;
- Country;
- If you prefer your paper to be published in Option A (Martello Papers); or Option B (IFPSP Website).
Submission guidelines
- Papers must be written in English or in French;
- Microsoft Word document (.doc or .docx);
- Font – Times New Roman, 12;
- Double-spaced;
- Footnotes – Chicago style;
- Minimize formatting; and,
- If graphics are used – you must have copyright (permission) to use and you must provide a high-resolution (1 MEG or 300 dpi) image.
The editorial team will decide which publication option will be directed each paper depending on your preference and the overall number of papers presented.
